First Congregational Church is selling raffle tickets for two Key West Express passes until the end of May.

Tickets are $15 a piece and can be purchased at the church, 200 East Leeland Heights Blvd. The Key West Express tickets have a value of $250 and must be used before December of this year.

"Someone is there almost every day," Beverly Roethlein, a church member, said.

The ticket sales will benefit the church as they continue their ongoing repairs.

"We are targeting the air conditioning this year. Last year we did the roof and signage. There is a lot of damage because it is an older church and it is all wood," she said of damages caused by Hurricane Irma.

The hurricane caused a lot of interior damage to such things as the carpeting, Bibles, pews and flooring because the entire roof was damaged.

The church also has a food bank, which is held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and a bread pantry from 8 to 9:30 a.m. every Saturday.

"It varies from about 50 to 70 people per day," Roethlein said of the pantries, which includes donations from the community.

Individuals just stop by and sign up for the pantries.

"They have to give proof of residency," she said.

First Community Congregational Church is a nondenominational church that welcomes all religions to their Sunday service. A continental breakfast is served at 9 a.m. followed by worship service at 10 a.m.

"We are a very friendly church," Roethlein said.
