After receiving multiple anonymous tips, Lee County Sheriff's Office detectives have identified Samantha Beausoleil, 33, as the suspect in last week's baby formula theft.

On Nov. 28, she entered the Publix, at 13121 Paul J. Doherty Parkway, Fort Myers, before leaving and returning a short time later. This time, an employee spotted Beausoleil loading cans of baby formula from the shelves into her purse. The employee followed her out of the store and attempted to detain her.

However, Beausoleil quickly sped off in a blue Chevy four-door sedan before the employee could retrieve the stolen goods. A review of video and store inventory revealed that she stole 15 various brands of baby food, totaling more than $300.
