Thank you during, after storm

To the editor:

As Lehigh Acres is progressing with the recovery and cleanup after Hurricane Irma, there are signs of normality coming back to the community. That also means that the snowbirds from up north and sometimes from across the big pond are returning to Southwest Florida to enjoy the sunshine and mild winters here.

At this time, I and I'm sure many other snowbirds agree that we owe a big thanks to our neighbors here who watched out for our homes and kept us informed. Seeing on television how buildings collapsed, roofs were damaged, even blown away, and big trees uprooted didn't help to calm our nerves when we were far away.

Therefore, it was so nice to receive photos and emails or messages from our neighbors, Valentina and Liane - thank you, ladies. Also, a special thanks goes to Greg (Borek) who watched our home, talked to workers and advised us what to do. It is wonderful to have a neighbor whom we can trust at such a difficult time and whose judgement we never question. Thanks Greg, you are the best neighbor!
