Local nursing home recognized on ‘Best Nursing Homes’ list
The Lehigh Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, along with two other Greystone Healthcare Management facilities, was named on the U.S. News & World Report’s list of “Best Nursing Homes” for 2016-17.
In addition to The Club Health and Rehabilitation Center in The Villages and The Lodge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ocala, are located in Florida and represent 295 short- and long-term care beds.
The Greystone facilities are among 2,000 skilled nursing locations that earned the U.S. News designation from a pool of more than 15,000 centers nationwide. The ratings were based on data from Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is the federal agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes.
The methodology used in the evaluation focused on key services and consistent performance in national quality measures. The facilities had to earn an average of 4.5 stars or better during the 12 months of federal reports ending in October and had to consistently meet certain performance standards set by U.S. News during the period, like earning at least 4 stars in the overall rating for all 12 months.
Health inspections, nurse staffing and medical quality measures were evaluated.
