VegHeads give seeds

The VegHeads 4-H youth club has vegetable seeds available at the Veterans Park Recreation Center, at 55 Homestead Road S.

The variety packs are free.

The seeds were donated by Rural King, of Bonita Springs.

Lehigh ABWA announces speaker

The Lehigh Chapter of ABWA will meet on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. for a social hour, followed by a speaker and business meeting at 7:15 p.m. in the restaurant at Mirror Lakes Golf Club, at 670 Milwaukee Blvd.; dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

Suzanne Specht, assistant director and certified business analyst for the SBDC, will talk about FEMA SBA loans available to hurricane victims.

Cost of the dinner is $15 and there is a cash bar.

Garden Club of Lehigh Acres plans meeting

The Garden Club of Lehigh Acres will meet Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Fountain Crest Retirement Community, at 1230 Taylor Lane.

Guest speaker Dan Sprague, who raises bees, will talk about “Florida Backyard Beekeeping.”

He will provide an overview of the history of beekeeping, information about bees and about what it takes to get into beekeeping, as well as its benefits.

The monthly business meeting and plant auction will follow.

Annual dues are $15 per member or $25 per couple; new members and guests are welcome.

Seminar on foreclosure

The Lee County Clerk of Courts will host a Foreclosure Process Workshop on Nov. 15 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Fort Myers Regional Library, at 2450 First St., Fort Myers.

Educate yourself about the foreclosure process and understand the role of the Clerk’s Office in the bidding process. This workshop covers the general flow of the foreclosure bidding process.

Reservations are not required, but seating is limited.

General Woman’s Club to meet

The General Woman’s Club of Lehigh Acres will meet Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. in Sweatlock Hall at the Faith Lutheran Church, at 705 E. Leeland Heights Blvd.

The guest speaker is James Reehten, of the Lee County Treatment Center. He will address the opoid epidemic.

Members are reminded to bring in their food donations for the needy. Bags have been provided.

The food drive will run through December.

Lehigh Concert Band to present performance

The Lehigh Concert Band will perform Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. First Baptist Church of Lehigh Acres, at 200 Lee Blvd.

It will be a salute to U.S. veterans with the “Armed Forces Salute,” “Hymn of Freedom,” “Dam Busters March,” “The Blue and the Gray,” “America” from “West Side Story” and more.

The concert is free; donations will be accepted.

The band is always accepting new musicians who play at a senior high school level, college level or above. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday at 7 p.m.

CPR class planned

The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District will host a CPR course on Nov. 29 at 10 a.m.

A?free course, it is the American Heart Association’s Family and Friends. Participants are given training and provided an opportunity to practice on mannequins.

There must be at least four people per class for it to be held.

Participants must register in advance by contacting Janis Williams at 239-303-5300.

Pool offering classes

The Lehigh Acres Community Pool, at 1400 W. Fifth St., is heated and open year-round.

A range of swim lesson skill levels are offered, including adult beginners; all taught by American Red Cross Certified instructors.

Eight classes for $50.

Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from a fast-paced workout at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are 45 minutes long in chest deep water.

Lifeguards-on-duty.

Lap swimmers welcome.

Plant, tree sale set

A plant sale will be held on the last Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at Lakes Regional Park, at 7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers.

It includes succulents, small trees, native plants, herbs, annuals, bromeliads, rose bushes and more.

Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions.

There is a $1 per hour parking fee, with a maximum of $5.

Lehigh Children’s Choir rehearsing

The Lehigh Children’s Choir rehearses from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays at Cayuga Music Studio, at 1100 Homestead Road.
