Riverdale Branch Library lists upcoming activities for October

The roster of activities for October at the Riverdale Branch Library, at 2421 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers.

The following are free:

Adult programs

- TED Talk

11 a.m. Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25

Short video talks to inspire you to share ideas.

Article Map

- Game Club Wednesdays

1 p.m. Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25

Play chess, board games and card games old and new.

- Paint, Sip, Listen & Relax

2-4 p.m. Oct. 5

Relax, listen to music, enjoy a complimentary beverage and dabble with watercolors. Paints, beverage and music will be provided.


- Family Storytime

10 a.m. Oct. 27

Your whole family is invited to this enjoyable, all-ages storytime that encourages the development of prereading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories.

Youth programs

- Kids Read Down Fines

2-3 p.m. Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27

10-11 a.m. Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28

Children and teens can earn a $2 credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Applies to charges on overdue materials.

- World Dragon Day Event

2 p.m. Oct. 7

Week-long fantasy activities culminate with dragons, magic, Harry Potter and all things fanciful.
