Country Roads Cafe, a place to sit back and watch game shows while enjoying a country-style meal, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month in Lehigh Acres.

Diane and Bill Harrell opened the family-friendly restaurant in 2007 and have been pleasing their customers since then with a friendly staff and homemade food.

"The interaction between the customers and the staff - after a while, everyone becomes friendly," Diane Harrell said. "We do everything we can to please our customers, and we just become a lot of our customers' family."

Diane said she prioritizes providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for customers. The restaurant has many regulars who come in frequently and know she and her husband very well.

The Harrells constantly walk around the venue, speaking to familiar faces, as they help around the restaurant to make sure their customers are satisfied.

"Customers know that if they have a problem, they can come to us and tell us and we'll try our best to fix it," Melissa Ruble, restaurant manager and the couple's daughter, said. "It is a family atmosphere, and once the customers start coming, they'll feel like they're part of the family."

The Harrells recently remodeled the restaurant, opening up the venue to provide more space. The couple also implemented live music every Saturday night with a local band, the Country Roads Band.

"We just put together local musicians that love to perform and customers that needed somewhere to go at night, where you can sit down and have a meal while enjoying entertainment, all for the price of just the meal," Diane Harrell said. "We're getting a really good reaction to it."

Following the positive feedback, the couple have decided to add more live music. The band Country's Gold will perform on Friday nights, and Monday nights will be for Gospel nights starting on Aug. 7.

To celebrate the anniversary, the restaurant will offer a three-way meal special during August.

Diane Harrell said there are more details to come.

According to her, the food at Country Roads Cafe emphasizes and prioritizes the making of almost everything from scratch, and almost everything is cooked-to-order. The country-style menu features a variety of food items for the customers, with breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert options available.

The restaurant also has an all-day breakfast option.

"We have a customer who tells us if we didn't have this restaurant, he doesn't know how he would've made it through his tough times," Diane Harrell said. "We care about our customers."

"It really is family - we all love the Lord - and that's what makes people feel like this is home," she added. "They feel the love and that's just who we are."
