Local organization serves as ‘voice of Lehigh’ for residents, businesses

June 7, 2017
By COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF LEHIGH ACRES , Lehigh Acres Citizen

What is happening in Lehigh Acres? Do you ever pass a construction site and wonder what is going to be built? Or see activity on a vacant piece of land and hope that a park is going in?

Wish that there was a way for your voice to be heard on a variety of topics important to you and other residents of Lehigh Acres?

The Community Council of Lehigh Acres serves as the voice for unincorporated Lehigh Acres. Our mission is to partner with the citizens and government agencies within Lee County Florida to make Lehigh Acres a great place to live and work.

The council represents various organizations, civic and government agencies that meet regularly to discuss and act on issues effecting Lehigh Acres. The council strives to be representative of Lehigh Acres residents and to address the rights and concerns of the residents and businesses to the appropriate governmental agencies.

The council has a positive impact on Lehigh Acres and the quality of life for Lehigh Acres residents. The council has been a vital component in Lehigh Acres since 1968.

The Community Council of Lehigh Acres also encourages citizens to speak during meetings. This gives each person a voice in Lehigh and provides neighboring groups to speak as well. We have members from Alva Inc., Lee County Parks and Recreation, Florida Gulf Coast University, Lee County School Board, Lee County Commission including Commissioner Frank Mann, Lee County Sheriff's Office and Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, to name a few who visit and speak on specific items as it concerns Lehigh Acres.

If you live in Lehigh Acres, we encourage you to attend our monthly meetings in order to get involved with our community! Guest speakers keep us up-to-date on new and developing changes that will impact our citizens.

Our board members serve on other committees and are able to bring updates to the meetings concerning recent permit requests, trends and concerns in our neighborhoods, crime prevention, civic activities and county needs.

The Community Council of Lehigh Acres serves as the voice for unincorporated Lehigh Acres.

Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the LCSO East District substation, at 1301 Homestead Road N.
