LCSO to hold seminars

The Lee County Sheriff's Office will host a series of educational seminars at the United Healthcare Medicare Store, at 6900 Daniels Parkway, Unit 23-C, Fort Myers.

The following dates and topics are planned:

- May 2: Internet Safety for Seniors

- May 30: Aviation - How criminals are found from the air

Each session will begin at 10 a.m. and last about an hour.

Seating is limited; reservations required at 239-561-9142.

Clerk of Court lists events

The Lee County Clerk of Court will host a seminar, called "The Value of Searching Public Records and Online Services," on May 5 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Cape Coral Library, at 921 S.W. 39 Terrace, Cape Coral.

Reservations are not required; seating is first-come, first-seated.

The office will also host Special Passport Days at the Lee County Clerk of Court, Recording Office, 2115 Second St., Second Floor, Fort Myers, on:

- May 15-19 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- May 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

School board member to speak at meeting

The League of Women Voters of Lee County will meet on May 6 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Helm Club at The Landings Yacht, Golf and Tennis Club, at 4420 Flagship Drive, Fort Myers.

Speaker Cathleen Morgan, the District 7 Lee County School Board member, will discuss the "Lee County School District's Vision 2020."

Casino Night planned

The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce will host Casino Night on June 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seminole Casino & Hotel Immokalee, at 506 South First St., Immokalee.

Free with RSVP; $10 at the door without RSVP.

The Business Happy Hour will include appetizers, two free drinks and dessert.

There will be drawings for prizes donated by area businesses; bring your business card to be entered into the big raffle drawing.

Round-trip transportation available for $15 per person; leave the chamber at 5:15 p.m. and return to the chamber at 10 p.m. Deadline to register for round-trip transportation is June 22.

Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

Community pool offers variety of classes

The Lehigh Acres Community Pool, at 1400 W. Fifth St., is heated and open year-round.

A range of swim lesson skill levels are offered, including adult beginners; all taught by American Red Cross Certified instructors.

Eight classes for $50.

Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from a fast-paced workout at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are 45 minutes long in chest deep water.

Lifeguards-on-duty. Lap swimmers welcome.

Youth choir rehearsing

The Lehigh Children's Choir rehearses from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays at Cayuga Music Studio, at 1100 Homestead Road.

Concert band seeks members

The Lehigh Concert Band is always accepting new musicians who play at a senior high school, college level or above.

The band also offers a scholarship program to encourage young players to join.

Plant, tree sale set

A plant sale will be held on the last Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at Lakes Regional Park, at 7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers.

The selection includes succulents, small trees, native plants, herbs, annuals, bromeliads, rose bushes and more.

Master Gardeners will be available to answer any questions.

There is a $1 per hour parking fee, with a maximum of $5.

Farmers markets open countywide

Farmers markets will be held:

- Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Park, at 201 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers

- Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Florida SouthWestern, at 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers

- Mondays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at JetBlue Park at Fenway South, at 11500 Fenway South Drive, Fort Myers

- Saturdays from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cornog Plaza, at 2400-2438 First St., Fort Myers
