Special to THE CITIZEN , Lehigh Acres Citizen

The maximum purchase price for homes eligible for the Lee County Department of Human and Veteran Services HOME Down Payment Assistance Program has increased.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has released 2017 maximum purchases prices for its HOME program. In Lee County, down payment assistance may now be provided to qualifying buyers purchasing homes up to $168,000.

To qualify for assistance, you must meet the HUD income guidelines, which vary based on household size.

For example, a two-person household must have a combined household income of $36,100 or less, and a four-person household must have a combined household income of $45,100 or less.

Other program requirements apply, which are available on the department website at: www.leegov.com/dhs/housing/homebuyers/DPA.
