Thank you for allowing me to serve

August 19, 2015
By JOANIE JEANETTE , Lehigh Acres Citizen

As many of you may have heard, I have resigned my position of chief executive officer of Lehigh Regional Medical Center and will be leaving the area at the end of August.

I am returning to Nashville, Tennessee, to work at the academic medical center located there.

It is bittersweet that I am leaving Florida - sweet because I am going to be closer to family and longtime friends and bitter because I am leaving a great hospital that has been my family for 4 1/2 years.

I don't want to say goodbye but I want to say thank you to everyone associated with the hospital for allowing me to serve.

Thank you to the Board of Trust who have been my eyes and ears during these years and guided me to lead the facility forward.

Thank you to the medical staff for helping me grow professionally, allowing me to share my strategies and, most of all, for treating my family and myself for our healthcare needs.

Thank you to all the employees at the hospital!

I have great respect for the work everyone performs daily and the appreciation is overwhelming. Like the physicians, you have cared for my family and me at different times and I am always so proud of that!

I want to wish everyone the best going forward. And once again, thank you!
